The Inhabited Embankment: Sonic Infrastructures [Of Berlin]
The Inhabited Embankment project revitalises Berlin’s historic rail network by integrating human and ecological spaces. It features a rammed earth wall for acoustic protection, glulam columns with woven willow, and a green bridge facilitating crossings. Beneath, adaptable CLT structures host markets and vertical factories, promoting urban rewilding.

St. Monan’s Salt Institute
The St. Monan’s Salt Institute revitalises historic salt production in Fife, Scotland. Utilising traditional Germanic blackthorn towers, the project offers a low-energy method to concentrate seawater into brine. Situated at Coal Farm, the institute fosters community engagement through blackthorn woodlands and reconnects the Fife coastal trail with the village.
